Mrs. Messner died very suddenly last Friday at her home in the country. The funeral occured Saturday from the Lutheran church northeast of town.
(This is believed to be Catherine Messner found in the 1885 Lincoln Tsp. Sioux County census age 64 along with her two children Daniel 23 and Louis 28. They were living with the Henry Bick family of which Catherina Bick was a daughter of Mrs. Messner. There was also a family history account on ancestry.com which may be the correct family. She is listed as Catherine Leidig 1820-1897(?) Her husband was Johannes Messner born 1815 Germany died 27 Apr 1871 in Wisconsin. The children pretty much match up with the ones in this area in the late 1800s. Louis 1857, Catherine 1859, Benjamin 1861, William 1865 among others.)
