ALBERT HAMERSMA
Albert Hamersma, 59, died Saturday near Alcester, S.D.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Church. The Rev. Ralph VanRheenen officiated. A prayer service was at 7:30 p.m. at the Dow Funeral Home.
Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery
Mr. Hamersma was born May 15, 1925, in rural Akron. He married Eva Schreur June 23, 1945, at Fairmont, Minn. They farmed in the Akron and Hawarden areas. He was a member of the Community Church and an Army veteran of World War DL
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jean of Westfield; a son, Allen of Alcester; four sisters, Winnie Richeson of Lonita, Calif., Margaret Schriver of Ruthton, Minn., Clara Reitsma of Fairmont, and Dorothy Blumestien, of Brighton, 111., two brothers, Frank and Claus, both of Alcester, and four grandchildren.
