Obituary: Rose Mary Koob, 95 of Greeley, Colorado died on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley.
She was born on January 24, 1916 in Granville, Iowa to Albert and Johanna (Bult) Slinger. Rose Mary married Emil Koob on November 4, 1941 in Hawarden, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1952.
Mrs. Koob worked as the society editor for the Hawarden Independent and later as a reporter for the Greeley Tribune.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and sang there with the choir. She also was involved with the Keenage Singers, the Friends of Foreign Students at the University of Northern Colorado, the Friends of the UNC Library, the Greeley Women’s Club and the AMICO Club.Survivors include one son and his wife, Robert and Yvonne Koob of San Luis Obispo, California, a daughter and her husband, Carol and Robert Schlimgen of Fort Myers, Florida, and a son-in-law, Mike Tibbens of Greeley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Koob, parents, Albert and Johanna Slinger, her sister Edythe Slinger, and a daughter, Colette Tibbens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2222 23rd Avenue in Greeley. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. followed by the Recitation of Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans, Colorado.
Graveside services will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30th at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, Iowa.
