March 29, 1919- June 18, 2011
Nina Orene Beckmann, 92, Primghar, died Saturday, June 18, at Primghar Care Center
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 22) at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Primghar, with Father Tim Hogan officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Primghar, under the direction of Gaudian- Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar
Nina Beckmann, daughter of Grover and Mary (Schneider) Petitt, was born March 29,1919, by rural Sanborn. She attended O'Brien and Osceola County country schools. She moved to Sheldon
in her early teens with her parents where she was a housekeeper for several families in the area.
She married Frank Beckmann in Granville on Jan. 16, 1939. They settled in the Granville area until 1942 when they moved to Archer They moved to a farm near Primghar in 1943. They
moved into Primghar in 1965. She moved to Primghar Care Center on March 8, 2011.
She was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Primghar. She enjoyed embroidering, making quilts and various craft she made for relatives and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and working outdoors with her flowers.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Brian and Sheri Olson of Lincoln, NE, Lavonne and Jason Trimmer of Omaha, NE, and Catherine and Clarence Bud" Pridemore of Belleve, NE; six great grandchilren; five great-great grandchildren; two brothers, G.C. Bud" and Darlene Petitt of Sheldon and Paul and Mitzi Petitt of Gillette, WY; and three sisters, Helen Erkes of Sheldon, Betty Swanson of Delano, CA, and Eleanor McDuffy of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Beckmann; a daughter, Arlene; a son-in-law, Ed Brinker; two brothers, Edward Petitt and William Petitt; and three sisters, Hilda, Mary and
infant sister, Dolly Mae.
