Mrs, Henrietta Wiggers, one of the oldest residents of the county, died this (Friday) morning, at the age of about seventy years. She was one of the first residents of our now flourishing little city, coming here with her
husband and family when it was scarcely more than a stretch of prairie. Reverses overtook the family and a few years after the death of her
husband her health failed and her condition soon grew to demand constant attention, and she was placed in the county home. Two sons survive her,
John, who is in Alaska, and Herman H, Wiggers, who is at Hawarden, The funeral will be - held from St, Mary's church Saturday morning at
9 o'clock.
(Gradus or Gerardus Wiggers b. 1838 died 1881 buried St. Mary's Alton. He was the son of Johannes Wiggers and Joanna Maria Geerdink, he married Hendrika 'Henrietta' Kluppel on 12 May 1868 at Hengelo OV Neth. She was born 1839 at Weerselo OV Neth to Gerardus Kluppel and janna Evelo, she died May 11, 1899. They had at least four children - Herman Wiggers, John Wiggers in Alaska, Joe living in Holland and Anna Wiggers a daughter 1878-1898 (see her obit).
