Wilmina Van Oort, the daughter of Aaron and HeIena (Smits)Aalbers, was born August 26,1916 at Orange City, Iowa. On November 11,1938, she was married to Peter Van Oort in Middleburg, Iowa, They lived most of their married life in Sanborn.Iowa.
She was a member of the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church and the Ladies Bible Fellowship. Mina enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting and will be remembered for making "Grandma's Caramel Corn," a Christmas tradition.
She died at Northwest lowa Health Center in Sheldon, Iowa on October 25,1998 at the age of 82 years, one month, and 29 days. Mina is survived by her husband, Peter, five children: Joy and her husband, Jim Van Dyke of Sanborn, IA, Audrey and her husband Alvin Kelderman of Doon, IA, Harv and his wife,Gloria Van Oort of Sanborn, IA, Ken and his wife, Natalee Van Oort of Rock Valley, IA, Donna and her husband, Charles Infinger of Charleston, SC; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Van Veldhuizen of Sanborn, IA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Johanna Reeffe; two grandsons: Lyle Kelderman, and Travis Van Oort; and great-granddaughter, Paige Van Oort.

(I couldn’t find the obit of Peter as he died in Sanborn and it was not in the Sioux county papers. According to ancestry.com he was born 5 May 1916 Leota MN and died 23 Jan 2001 at Sanborn IA Married Nov 11, 1938. Wilmina was the daughter of Arend and Helena Smits Aalbers)
