Ray Edward Finch,72, son of the Will and Ann Elizabeth nee(Behnke)Finch of Hawarden passed away April 25, at the Hawarden Community Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Associated Church in Hawarden with Rev. Herbert C. Young officiating. Burial services were held at the Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Finch was born on July 9, 1900 near Beresford, SD. He grew up in Union County, SD. and spent his early years there. He married Vivian Listion on Sept. 8, 1932 at Sioux Falls, SD. and lived in Hawarden since that time. Finch was a member od the Presbyterian Church and Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian, four children; Mrs. Richard (Lois) Hartman of Sioux City, Ronald of Hawarden, Mrs. James (Carol) Meins of Greeley, Colo., and Terry of Sioux Falls; three sisters; Mrs. Esther Carpenter and Mrs. Charles(Ida) Copper of Hawarden, and Mrs. Orrin(Florence) Laersen of Alcester; one brother, Ralph of American Forks, Utah; and 16 grandchildren.
