Arthur G. Wilken, 75, Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died June 3, 1991, at his home after an extended illness.

Services were held June 6 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, Craig. Rev. Beth Graham officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Mauer-Johnson funeral home, Le Mars.

Mr. Wilken was born Oct. 7, 1915, in Preston township, Plymouth county, to Gerhard and Meta Martfeld Wilken. He married Lucile Winterfeld Nov. 15. 1939, at Craig. He was a lifelong farmer and member of St. John church, Craig, where he held many offices.

Survivors are his wife, Lucile, of Akron; a son, Merle Wilken and his wife, Jean of Akron; three grandchildren, Lisa Erdmann and husband, John of Le Mars; Scott Wilken and Amy Wilken of Akron; three sisters, Hannah Grasz, Frieda McAninch and Dena Jacobs and husband, Gert, all of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Wilken; two sisters, Minnie Gabel and Kate Siebens.
