Albertus (Bert) Vis, 55, a Rock Valley resident since 1960, died Thursday at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Vis was born June 14, 1928, in Hull, Iowa, and attended school there. He married Alice Eshuis Oct. 7, 1949, in Sioux Center, Iowa. He farmed in the Perkins and Sioux Center, Iowa, area until 1960 when he moved to Rock Valley. He then was employed in the trucking business until 1970. His wife died in 1980.

Survivors include a son, Harold, Rock Valley; a daughter, Mrs. Leon (Mary) Van Egdom, Rock Valley; his mother, Mrs. Winnie Vis, Hull; five grandchildren; a brother, Henry, Hull; and two sisters: Mrs. Bernard (Hendriene) Stuit, Modesto, Ca., and Mrs. Pete (Myna) De Stigter, Sioux Center.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Calvin Christian Reformed Church. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
