Gertrude Aalders, 89, formerly of Orange City died Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.
A funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday morning at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Interment was scheduled to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Gertrude was born Feb. 23, 1908, in Orange City, the daughter of Harry and Johanna
Magdelene (Ypma) De Vries. On Dec. 30, 1935, she married Dick J. Aalders at Sibley. That marriage ended in 1952.
Gertrude lived in the Orange City area for most of her life. She had been a resident of the
Pleasant Acres Care Center for many years.
Survivors include her son, Dudley, and his wife, Ursula, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a grandson, Mark, of Arizona; and a sister, Claire Pals of Golden Valley, Minn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, Steve, Charles and Gerrit De Vries; md a sister, Agnes Peters.
