Death Calls Mrs. John Vlotho, Sr.
Mrs. John Vlotho, Sr., 81, a resident of this vicinity for more than 60 years, passed away Tuesday [May 29] from complications due to her advanced age.

Augusta Dittmer was born on May 16, 1864, at Guttenburg, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Vlotho on February 26, 1884, and came to Ireton the same year. To this union were born four children, two of whom preceded her in death. Mr. Vlotho passed away a few years ago.
When she came to Ireton she lived on a farm east of town until 1907, when she and her husband retired to move to Ireton. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and when her health permitted was an ardent worker in its various organizations.
She is survived by two children, John Vlotho and Mrs. Lenore Reid, and one sister, Mrs. Gerd Onken of Los Angeles, Calif. There are eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
