Maurice Vernon Of Brunsville Dies at Age 54
Maurice T. Vernon, 54, of Brunsville, died Tuesday, September 2, at his home. He was working in a tavern in Brunsville when he became ill and died shortly after.
Mrs. Vernon is a sister of Mrs. A. L. Muth of Hawarden and is well known here by many.
Two weeks prior to his death, Mr. Vernon fell while hauling grain and suffered a fractured wrist. He was hospitalized for a day. He had been under a doctor's care previously for a heart ailment.
He was born July 24, 1898, at Bronson, Iowa, and was married February 9, 1919 to Miss Rose Luschen of Hawarden.
Survivors are the widow; one son, Philip of Brunsville; two daughters, Mrs. George Mayfield of Sheldon and Mrs. Wayne Crowley of Le Mars; his mother, Mrs. Nora Vernon of Brunsville; a brother, Thomas Vernon of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Vera Harms of Brunsville and five grandchildren.
