Tonia Vander WaaI passed away Wednesday afternoon in Sioux Center at the age of eighty-three years. She was born on February 28, 1911, in The Netherlands to Jan and Marie (Euzer) Van Os. On July 8, 1930, in The Netherlands, she was united in marriage to Aart Vander Waal who preceded her in death on February 25, 1969. She came to America in 1952 and lived in New Jersey until 1962 when she moved to Iowa on a farm near Orange City. In 1985 she moved into Sioux Center.
She is survived by eight children: Jan of The Netherlands; Gertrude, Mrs. Leen Wisse of Rock Valley; Marie, Mrs. Lourens Willekes of Sioux Center; Gary of Doon; John of B.C., Canada; Aart of Rock Valley; Henk of Sioux Center; and Walter of Orange City. She is also survived by fifty grandchildren, sixty-five great-grandchildren and one brother, Andries Van Os of The Netherlands. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
