Mrs. Anna LaFave Bowes, age 88, a former Hawarden resident from 1920 to 1937, passed away at the Santa Ana Calif.convalescant hospital on April 7. Funeral services were held in the Memorial Chapel of Hughes Mortuary in Loma Linda, Calif with Elder G.T. Dickinson and Dr. Floyd Rittenhouse her nephew officiating.

Anna Bowes the former Anna LaFave was born the daughter of Jane and Joseph LaFave on Dec. 29 1884 in Union County SD. She married George Bowes on Dec. 23, 1914, after his death in 1920 she resided in Hawarden and did private duty nursing in the area, She also was active in the Seventh Day Adventist church of which she was a charter member. Mrs. Bowes moved to Loma Linda, Calif in 1938, where she spent her remaining years.

Survivors include her two sons, Dr. Roy Bowes of Santa Ana, Calif and Dr. Glenn Bowes of Claremont, Calif. and their families, which include 6 grandchildren and one great grandchildren
