Nellie Riepma, age 84, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Memorial Service will be Friday, December 23, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev. Troy Van Beek and Rev. Talman Wagonmaker officiating.
Graveside Service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 23, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

Nellie Pearl Riepma was born on November 20, 1927 in Hull, Iowa. She was the daughter of Albert and Rose (De Vos) Valentine. She lived her youth in Orange City, Iowa, later moving to Hull, Iowa. She attended grade school in Orange City and graduated from high school in Hull. Nellie attended two years of college at Westmar in LeMars, Iowa, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught for two years at a country school north of Hull.
She was united in marriage to Edward Riepma of Sioux Center, Iowa on September 10, 1948 at her parents’ home north of Hull. They lived in Hull before moving to Hawarden, Iowa, where they farmed until 1959. They moved to Sheldon, Iowa, where they farmed until 1984. Nellie worked at Ben Franklin in the sewing department for 12 years. She worked at Village Northwest Unlimited for 25 years in the ceramic department and at a waiver home.
She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon where she was involved with Couple’s Bible Study, Women’s Guild, and teaching Sunday School.
Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family, painting, and sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress.
She moved to Sanford Senior Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa in 2000.
She passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 63 years: Edward Riepma of Sheldon, IA; her children: Barbara Faye and Richard Fagley of Orofino, ID, Lyla Beth and Darrell Allgaier of Navarre, FL, Lauralie Millikan of St. Paul, MN, Ronald Edward and Jackie Riepma of Boyden, IA; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Alvin and wife Elizabeth Valentine of Cedar Rapids, IA, Warren and wife Betty Valentine of Sioux Center, IA, Pete and wife Harriet Valentine of Sioux Falls, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: John Valentine; one grandson: Stephen Edward Fagley.
