John J. Koolbeek, whom we reported last week as recovering from his sickness, got rapidly worse the fore part of this week. Everything in human power was done for him, but he died Wednesday evening [April 10], aged 26 years. Mr. Koolbeek was a kindhearted, industrious young man and his untimely death has cast a gloom over the entire community. A wife and two little children survive him. We sympathize with the bereaved relatives. The funeral will be held from the Reformed church, Saturday.
