Mrs. Van Voorst, Le Mars, Killed in Car Accident

Mrs. Richard Van Voorst Jr., 37, LeMars, was killed in a car accident last week Wednesday night [Nov. 12] in a headon collision of two cars on highway 75. Mrs. John Beach of Brunsville, another passenger in the car, died in a Sioux City hospital this week Monday morning. Two men in the car were badly cut and bruised but were out of danger. The driver of the other car, L. D. Seddens of Des Moines, is still in critical condition in a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Van Voorst were held Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Mauer Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Anderson officiated.

Mrs. Van Voorst was born Oct. 1, 1909 in LeMars, the daughter of Alex and Dora Roberts, and at the time of her death was 38 years, 1 month, and 14 days of age. On February 4, 1928 she was united in marriage to Richard Van Voorst, who survives.

Besides her husband, she also leaves three children, Mrs. Everett Sams, Merrill, Alex Richard Van Voorst, and Alfred Leroy Van Voorst, both of LeMars, and one grandchild.

Richard Van Voorst Jr. is a son of Mr. and Mr. Richard Van Voorst, former residents of Sioux Center.
