DIED: February 25, 1952, Sioux Center, Iowa
Services at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home at 1:00 and 1:30 at First Reformed Church.
Burial in Sioux Center Community Cemetery February 28, 1952.
Mr. Richard Vermeer passed away very suddenly at his home Monday evening following only a short illness at the age of 72 years, 7 months. Mr. Vermeer was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Roos September 4, 1907 and farmed in this community until moving to Sioux Center in the fall of 1947. He is now survived by his v:ife and the following five children: Edward, Ellen, Geneva, Andrew, and Estella, Mrs. Floyd Aehterhof, all of Sioux Center. Three sons died in infancy. He is further survived by ten grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers: Ella, Mrs. Peter S. Schut. Jake E. Vermeer, Sioux Center: Dr. Gerrit Vermeer, Sheldon; Peter E. Vermeer, Sioux Center; Maggie, Mrs. Henry De Boer, Sioux Center; Jennie, Mrs. Asa Muilenburg, Sioux Center; Grace, Mrs. Henry Ramaker, Sioux Center; Hattie, Mrs. Dr. Henry Mol, Grundy Center, Ia.; and Priscilla, Mrs. Albert Ramaker, Sioux Center. One brother died in infancy and one brother, Edward, passed away July 3, 1931.
