R. Van Voorst passed away yesterday morning. His age was 49 years and nineteen years ago he came from Colorado and has lived since that time in the Sioux Center community. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from the Christian Reformed church.

R. van Voorst is niet meer. Gisterenmorgen heeft hij, na een langdurig lijden, het tijdelijke met[?] het eeuwige verwisseld, den onderdom van ruim 49 jaren bereikt hebbende. Ruim 16 jaren geleden kwam hij hier uit Colorado en heeft al dien tijd hier rond Sioux Center gewoond. Het stoffelijk overschot zal morgen (Donderdag) namiddag van uit de Chr. Geref. kerk grafwaarts worden gebracht. De dienst zal om twee uur aanzangen.
Wij betuigen onze sympathie met de achterblijvende weduwe en hare kinderen.

Translation:

R. Van Voorst is no more. Yesterday morning, after long suffering, he changed the temporal for the eternal, having reached the age of more than 49 years. Over 16 years ago he came here from Colorado, and ever since has lived in the Sioux Center area. His mortal remains will be brought to the grave tomorrow (Thursday) from the Christian Reformed church. The service will be at two o'clock.
We express our sympathy to the surviving widow and her children.
