An event that particuariy saddened this community, was the untimely demise of Ira Vreeland, who died at the home of his parents last Wednesday morning. Last year he was assistant cashier of the Fanners &. Merchants
Bank at this place, and held that position till the bank sold its stock, and went out of business. Since then and until a few weeks ago he held a similar position in a bank in Nebraska. A few weeks ago he came home sick with typhoid fever. While he had beeu dangerously
ill for some time, his death came as a sad surprise to his host of friends. The funeral took place last Friday, the remains being taken to the cemetery at Hull. Rev. Chase officiated
at the last sad rites, and also at the memorial
services held at the Presbyterian church here last Sunday morning. Deceased was only twenty three years old at the time of his death. He was an exemplary and popular young man; and was looked forward to by his parents as the main stay of their declining years The sympathy of the entire comnmunity is with the stricken parents.
(Found this to be the son of William H. Vreeland b. Feb 1838 New Jersey died Oct 1914 and Mary R. Harry born Dec 1848 Illinois died June 1913, both buried at Hull. They had two children Ira born 1875 and Irene b. 1870. William was the editor of the Maurice paper for about 15 years. After Mary died in June of 1913, William went to live with his daughter in Miller)
