Vernice O. Nelson,63, of Sioux City and a former Alcester resident died July 30. Funeral services were held on Aug. 3 at the Big Spring Baptists Church and burial services were held in the church cemetery.

Miss Nelson was born on Sept. 28, 1909 in Big Springs township, the daughter of Edwin and Anna(Carlson)Nelson. She attended the Alcester High School and made her home on a farm near Alcester during her entire life with the exception of one year in Sioux City.

Survivors include her sister, Miss Florence Nelson of Sioux City. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers
