BOY, 4, IS ELECTROCUTED; FUNERAL HELD HERE MONDAY

Funeral services were held at the Netherlands Reformed church in Sioux Center at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, for Timothy James Van Voorst, 4 year old twin son of Mr. and Mrs. James V. Van Voorst of near Hull, formerly of Sioux Center, who was electrocuted on the evening of July 30 when he came in contact with an electroc line apparently downed by a fallen tree branch at the farm home.

Services were conducted by the Rev. C. Hegeman and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral home in Sioux Center.

The boy was dead on arrival at the Sioux Center Community hospital. His mother had suffered minor electric shock when she pulled the boy away from the electric line which had fallen between the farm residence and a chicken coop. The child's father was treated at the Sioux Center Community hospital for emotional shock following the mishap. He had been in ill health.

Timothy was born in Sioux Center July 1, 1965. The family lived in Sioux Center until moving to a farm near Hull in 1968.

Survivors besides the parents and the twin borther, Thomas, include five other brothers, Alvin, Roger, Arlin, Douglas and Kevin, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Zomer of Orange City, Mrs. Adrie Born of Sioux Center and LaVonne at home; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Tunis Vander Weide of Sioux Center.
