Mrs. Claus Post Born in Holland
Mrs. Claus (Klaas) Post (nee Lucy Van Vliet) passed away at an Orange City Hospital Sunday morning at 1:30. She is sruvived by her husband and one son, Louis, and by one sister living in the Netherlands. Mrs. Post had been seriously ill for three weeks and for many months had suffered from ill health. she was born in the Netherlands Jan 18, 1874, being 50 years of age at the time of her passing, and was mariired May 11, 1904, (1905) to Claus Post. After her marriage she came to America with her husband and their small son, the family locating at Orange City where they have made their home since, or for about 25 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home two blocks east of the Academy, Rev. Vander Lune of the Carnes Reformed church officiating, and interment took place at thie Orange City cemetery. R. J. Boersma of Heiman WI, was among those from away who came to attnd the funeral. The family have the heartfelt sympathy of all who know them in their sad hour.
(Her birth name was Lieuwkje van Vliet, her parents were Lieuwe van Vliet and Leentje van der Pol. She married Klaas Post on May 11, 1905 at Het Bildt Friesland Neth. He was 34 and she was 32.)
