H. Poppema died Wednesday morning at a ripe old age. He was buried in the cemetery east of town (Presbyterian Memorial) Friday afternoon.
(No headstone exists. Harm Poppema married at Zuidhorn Nether. 1861 to Hendrikje Brongers, she died 8 Apr 1886 Zuidhorn. His parents were Jan Tonis Poppema and Grietje Tonnis Wattenburg, They were the parents of at least two children Grietje b. 10 Jan 1868 Zuidhorn, she died early, and Jan 'John' born 2 Jan 1869 Zuidhorn Groningen, Neth. )
