Esther Bandy Goyke, R.N. of Jackson, Florida and former Hawarden resident, passed away last week at Jacksonville. Her husband Lawrence Goyke preceeded her in death in November of 1967 at Jacksonville.

Esther Bandy was born 11 Mar 1896. She was a 1914 graduate of the Hawarden High School and attended Carmel College in Grinnell. She entered the Army Nurses Training School at the beginning of World War I. She graduated from this school at the Presidio in San Francisco. She then served as an army nurse in several army hospitals. On her retirement from the service she was Superintendent of the Hawarden Hospital under Dr. Meyer and Dr. Null. Esther moved to Jacksonville Fla was married there. She was buried in Jacksonville and is survived by two nieces and one nephew.
