Arnt Russell Espeset, the son of Arnt Ruduloph and Irene Amelia (Grodland) Espeset, was born March 12, 1921, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away Friday, December 2, 2011, at Sioux Center Community Care Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, at the age of 90.
He received his education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School. Arnt also attended Estherville Junior College and Dunwoody Institute. He served in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II.
On June 26, 1949, Arnt was united in marriage to Josephine Handeland in Estherville. The couple made their home in Estherville where he was employed at various locations including, working as a grocery clerk, farm hand, bookkeeper, an auto mechanic, P.G. Gray, Supersweet Feeds and then he was employed as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Estherville for 27 years. In October of 1996, Josephine and Arnt moved to Sioux Center to be closer to their family. Josephine died May 8, 2003.
Arnt was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and he was an Associate Member of 1st Reformed in Sioux Center.
Arnt is survived by one daughter, Jan Henryson and her husband, Bruce of Sioux Center; four grandchildren, Chris Henryson, Matt Henryson and his wife, Colleen, Ryan Henryson and his wife, Stacy, and Kari Rutlege and her husband, Andrew; two great grandchildren, Trey and Jake Henryson; sister, Audrey Loveland and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Arnt in death were his wife; parents; brother, Richard and sister, Vivian Handeland.
