Elizabeth Gamberton Storrs was born in Lumberland, Sullivan county, N. Y., March 2, 1817. She died at her residence in Hawarden
August 15, 1901, at the ago of 84 years, 5 months and 13 days. The immediate cause of her death was heat prostration foliowed by a stroke of paralysis. At the age of 11 years she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and for the past 40 yearn she has been, a member of the Presbyterian church. She was married March 4, 1841, to Andrew Storrs, who died two years ago after a marriage of 58 years. In 1849 she and her husband became residents of eastern Iowa, then the extreme frontier. She resided in Jones and Linn counties, Iowa, for over thirty years. In 1883 she became a resident of Hawarden, where she lived until her death. She was the mother of five children, only one of whom is now living. During her last sickness she often expressed her trust in her Savior and her desire to depart and be with her loved ones who have gone before. The funeral services were held at her home Friday afternoon, Aug. 16, Rev. Ghos. Galt preaching the sermon.
