From the Sioux County Herald of Feb. 8, 1905.
Mrs. Phillip Buckley, who came to this country in the early 70s with her husband and family, located on their homestead, 4 miles west of Hull, died at the home of her son Martin, last week Wednesday morning, the cause of her death being paralysis. She had always lived a devout Catholic and was buried from the Catholic church here, Saturday. Mr. Buckley died some years ago.
Two daughters Mrs. P. Sullivan, of Rock Valley, and Mrs. M. M. McCann, of Lisamore, Minn., and two sons Martin, of this place, and Thomas, of some place in Idaho, survive to mourn her loss. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of a host of friends.
