HULL — Double funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. John De Boer, who lost their lives in an auto accident near Luverne, Minn. April 22, were conducted in the couple’s home and at the First Reformed church of Hull Saturday April 25. Rev. Wayne Lemmen, pastor of the American Reformed church of Hull, was in charge of the services. Rev. Wm. C. De Jong, pastor of the First Reformed church, also took part in the church service. Special music was furnished by Henry Hymans and his daughter Mrs. Leonard Gorzeman. who sang "Rock of Ages" and ‘God Will Take Care of You." Mrs. Lawrence Oelrich was organist.
Burial was made in. the Hope Cemetery at Hull.
John G. De Boer was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gossen De Boer January 9, 1890 in Alton, Iowa. Three years later the family moved to Hull where he lived the remainder of his life. He was united in marriage to Julia Draayom of Hospers on March 24, 1915. They moved to a farm at the south edge of Hull where he farmed and remained on the same place until they retired in November, 1951, moving into a new home they built nearby.
Mrs. De Boer was born March 11, 1894, to Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Draayom of Hospers, where she lived until her marriage. Surviving are three children, Gossen of Holland, Minn.: Julia, Mrs. Elmer Rock of Kingsley, Ia., and Gerrit who farms the home place, and six grandchildren. Mr. De Boer is also survived by one sister and two brothers, Fannie, Mrs. Thomas Raker of Pella. Ia.: Cornelius C. De Boer of Arlington, S. D. and Rev. Dowie G. De Boer of Milford, Mass. One sister, Mrs. Dick Heusinveld of Hull, preceded him in death.
Mrs. De Boer is also survived by four brothers and three sisters William Draayom of Corsica, S. D.: Bert Draayom of Tampa, Fla. Grace, Mrs. Frank Pancoast of St. Petersburg, Fla.: Dena, Mrs. Martin Vande Velde of Dalemead, Alberta, Canada; Lib Draayom of Sheldon, Ia.; Gerrit Draayom and Margaret, Mrs. Matt De Booy both of Sioux City, Iowa. Two sisters preceded her in death. Bertha, Mrs. Case Nieuwenhuis and Fannie, both of Hospers.

Hull Couple Burned to Death / in Auto Accident
An elderly Hull couple, Mr. and Mrs. John G. De Boer, died yesterday when their car was struck and burned on highway 75 about five miles south of Luverne Minn. Both bodies were burned beyond recognition.
The facts of the accident and license number of the car were reported to Sioux County Sheriff Harry Dykstra, who obtained the identity of the dead by tracing the license number.
Mr. and Mrs. De Boer had been to Pipestone, Minn., to visit relatives and were on their way home at the time the accident occurred.
The De Boer car is reported to have stopped when smoke drifting across the highway obscured vision. It was hit from the rear by another car and caught fire. The driver of the other car was seriously hurt and could not aid Mr. and Mrs. De Boer.
Mr. and Mrs. De Boer were driving a 1949 Ford, which was completely destroyed.
The De Boers had retired from farming and made their home at the south edge of Hull.
