Adrianna Dekker, 95, of Sheldon, died Saturday, May 14, 1988 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.
Services were Tuesday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m., in the First Reformed Church, Sheldon with Rev. Warren Hietbrink officiating. Interment was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn under the directions of the Sanborn Funeral Home Service.
Pall bearers were Dale Fulk, Robert Zoet, Dale Zoet, Loren Zoet, Dean Zoet, William Dekker, Jr.
Adrianna Wildeman, the daughter of Arthur & Wilhelmpje (Van Ry) Wildeman, was born at Abenbroek, Netherlands on March 7, 1893. She attended school and spent her youth in the Netherlands. On Dec. 5, 1912 she was united in marriage to Jake Dekker, Sr. at Adenbroek, Netherlands. Following their marriage, they came to the United States in 1914 and settled at Hull. They began farming in the Hull area and later moved and continued farming near Sheldon. In 1954 they retired and moved to Sheldon. They enjoyed spending winter months in Arizona. Mr. Dekker passed away in 1970. Mrs. Dekker entered Northwest Iowa Health Center Nursing Wing on April 20, 1988.
She was a member of the Reformed Church of Sheldon and enjoyed her hobby of knitting.
She is survived by her children; Jake, Jr. of Sanborn; William of Sibley; Pearl, Mrs. Bert Zoet of Sheldon; Eugene of Casa Grande, AZ, and Cora, Mrs. Darrell Fick of Casa Grande, AZ; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Wildeman of Rock Rapids and Peter Wildeman of Sheldon; four sisters, all of The Netherlands, Lena Schoordyk, Wilhelmina Hokke, Pauline Verema, and Sjaan Van der Hoek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grand daughter, seven brothers and one sister.
