Arthur De Boer
Arthur De Boer, 67, of Rock Valley, died Thursday in a hospital in Rock Valley.
Services were at 1:3G p.m~Saturday in the Calvin Christian RaformedChui~h4 Rock Valley. The Rev. Jerry Van Gronigen officiated. Burial was in ValleyView Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Porter Funeral Home.
Mr. De Boer was born July 4, 1917 rural Rock Valley and graduated from Rock Valley Christian School. He married Lydia Wynia April 10, 1941, in Rock Valley. They farmed north of Rock Valley until 1982 when they retired. In November 1983 they moved into Rock Valley.
Mr. De Boer was a past board member of the Farm Bureau of Lyon County and also was a 4-H leader for several years. He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church,
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wilmer of St. Paul, Minn., and Jay of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Helene) Van Grootheest of Storm Lake; two brothers, Gerrit and Oscar, both of Rock Valley; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Otten and Mrs. Neal (Gertie) Van Middendorp, both of Doon and Mrs. Hattie Cleveringa and Mrs. Bert (Jennie) Driesen, both of Rock Valley; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
