He was born in Wultz, Luxemburg in 1820 and in 1850 was married to Miss Lizzie Huberte. Their children were all born in the old country. Pete who lives in Chicago, Mrs. George Wagner of Granville and John at Alton survive. Several children died. John has worked at William Van Nimwegen's harness shop up to a few months ago but is now operating a reapir shop of his own. Four years ago the old folks celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and were one of the oldest couples in northwest Iowa. He leaves a wife aged seventy-eight to mourn his loss. The funeral which was held from St. Mary's church Thursday morning at nine o'clock was largely attended--Rev. Brune conducting the services. Interment took place in St. Mary's cemetery.
