SAM DE JONG SR. PASSES ON
Orange City: Sam De Jong sr., passed away at the University Hospita1 in Iowa City Monday morning at 8:15 o’clock. He was taken to Iowa City in the Van Etten ambulance Friday evening after having suffered a broken hip that day. On Saturday morning he underwent surgery on the hip and was considered by the surgeons to be quite successful. He leaves his widow and 7 sons: Jake of Castlewood, S.D.; Peter of O.C.; Robert, Frank and Fred of Chicago; Sam and Arnold of O.C.
Two sons preceded him in death. They are Ray 28, who died 15 years ago, and an infant son. The date for the funeral has not been set at the time of this writing.
