Nettle DeJong, 92, of Sanborn, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 1990 at Prairie View Retirement Home in San born.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 4,1990 at the Sanborn Funeral home with Rev. Gerald Osland officiating. Burial was at Sheridan Township Cemetery in Boyden, under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home.
DeJong, daughter of Anthony and Adrianna (Van Steenburgen) Verrips, was born in Boyden on March 14, 1898. She lived her youth and received her education in Boyden.
She married Robert Smith from 1919 to 1929. In 1943 she married Joe DeJong. Most of her life had
been spent in the communities of Boyden, Sanboin and Montevideo, MN. She entered Prairie View
Retirement Home on Oct. 15, 1981. She is survived by her children: June Dykstra of Homeland, CA, and Arthur Smith of Yorba Linda, CA; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
