Last Rites Held for Bert Van't Hul Tuesday, Oct. 13

Funeral services for Bert Van't Hul, Rock Valley, were held Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed church at Rock Valley with Rev. Jack J. Mathies of Hull officiating. Burial was at Valley View cemetery, Rock Valley.

Mr. Van't Hul died Saturday, Oct. 10 at the St. Joseph's hospital, Sioux City, after a short illness. He reached the age of 61 years.

Mr. Van't Hul was born Oct. 9, 1903 on a farm near Perkins. He married Gertrude Van Maanen Oct. 11, 1928. Mr. Van't Hul lived and farmed on the same farm for 58 years.

Survivors include the widow and four sons, Lawrence, Harlan of Rock Valley, Orville of Hull, and Junior at home; six daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. George Van Beel) Inwood, Albertha (Mrs. Louis Altena) Doon, Harriet (Mrs. Marvin Vande Kamp) Rock Valley, Geraldine (Mrs. Norman Vande Vegte) Inwood, and Joyce and Joanne at home; 15 grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.

His parents, two daughters and one brother preceded him in death.

The Sioux Center News obit adds the names of his surviving brothers and sister: Jessie (Mrs. Bert Van Maanen), Gerrit, Gerben of Perkins, Otto of Rock Valley, and Manus.

The Alton Democrat obit adds the names of the pallbearers: Elmer Koedam, Edward Kragt, John Post, Leroy Koedam, Alvin Gaalswyk and George M. Van Beek.
