Van't Hul, Lyda (Miss), 1930-2008

Lyda Van't Hul, 77, of Rock Valley died Monday, March 17.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley, with the Rev. Gene Vis officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Lyda Van't Hul was born December 28, 1930, on the family farm east of Rock Valley, the daughter of Otto and Ida (Hoekstra) Van't Hul. She attended Rock Valley Christian School and was a lifetime member of First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. In her early years, she assisted her mother with housework for people in the community. She later was employed at Hope Haven for 18 years, working in custodial services and was a member of their gospel choir. She lived at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull before moving to Valley Manor in Rock Valley in February 2007. Her favorite pastime was singing while playing the piano.

Survivors include a brother, Bernard Van't Hul of Sheldon; three nieces and a nephew; and special cousins, Doroth [Dorothy?] Van Beek and Marie Brummel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Wilmina Van't Hul; and a nephew.
