Mrs. Wm. Van Veldhuizen passed away Sunday morning [March 2] at 3 o'clock at her home in Orange City at the age of 72 years.

She was the former Fannie Vander Maaten and was born November 16, 1868 in the Netherlands. At the age of 13 she came to America and on March 19, 1891 she was united in marriage to Wm. Van Veldhuizen. They moved to town in 1926.

Mrs. Van Veldhuizen is survived by her husband and 4 children: Gertie, Mrs. Wm. D. Lammers of Sheldon, Jennie, Mrs. John K. Ver Steeg of Orange City, Andrew of Newkirk and Wilhelmina of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 1 brother, Tinus Vander Maaten and 1 sister, Mrs. Jake Doctor both of Orange City. One son, Jacob, died September 25, 1919 after having served overseas. Another child died in infancy.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the Trinity Ref. church with Rev. J. G. Brouwer in charge. Burial was made in the Newkirk cemetery.

Mrs. Wm. Van Veldhuizen passed on at her home Saturday evening, after several years of illness. She was born Nov. 16, 1868 in the Netherlands. At an early age she came to America with her family and in 1881 on Mar. 19 she was married to Mr. Van Veldhuizen—nearly 50 years ago.

Five children blessed this home, one son, Jacob, having passed on at the age of 27. Surviving are Gertrude, Mrs. W. Lammers, ..Sheldon; Jennie, Mrs, J. VerSteeg, Andrew of Hospers and Miss. Wilhelmina, Sioux Falls.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in the home and Trinity Ref. church with Bev. Brouwer officiating. Burial was in the Newkirk cemetery. She is survived by her husband and four children and by eleven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Doktor, and one brother, Martin Vander Maaten.
