Henry Van Veldhuizen, 84, of Rock Valley died Wednesday [April 2] in a hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Raymond Denekas officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens at Sioux Center under direction of the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Van Veldhuizen was born Feb. 22, 1902 at rural Sioux Center. He married Dena Brinkman March 5, 1924 in Rock Rapids. They farmed in the Carmel area until 1936 when they moved to rural Doon where they farmed until their retirement. They moved to Sioux Center in 1969. Mrs. Van Veldhuizen died in 1983 and he moved to Rock Valley in August 1985.

Survivors include three sons, John of Doon, Bernie of Rock Valley and Lester of Hull; five daughters, Mrs. Cornie (Greta) Van Middendorp of Sioux Center, Mrs. Henry (Everna) Wallenburg of Ripon, Calif., Mrs. Marvin (Henrietta) Van Der Weide of Orange City, Mrs. Arnold (Pearl) Sohl of Doon and Mrs. Marlo (Della Mae) Muth of Akron; two brothers, James of Hull and Henry John of Sanborn; 33 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
