Alton Democrat of Jul 30, 1898
Word has been received here of the death of Miss Anna Wiggers at St. Joseph's hospital at Ft. Wayne,Ind., Wednesday, July 20th, She will be
well remembered by Alton people having resided here a few years ago. The only relative that was with her at the time of her death was her
brother, Herman Wiggers, the rest of the relatives being too far away to be present. She has four brothers, John, who is in Alaska, Joe, who is still in Holland and Gerhard of Chicago, This family is deserving of much 'riendly sympathy as it has been broken up and scattered for years.
They possessed but little of this world's goods, the father died a number of years ago and the mother became a helpless invalid and is today
an inmate of the Sioux county poor farm. Anna was an industrious girl and earnestly endeavored to make her way in the world, but even health
seemed to have been denied her, and she became a consumptive sufferer.
The strife is over and the earthly battles for her are ended now, and she has reached "the plains of peace,"
(she was the daughter of Gerardus Wiggers and Hendrik Kluppel both buried in St. Mary's cem at Alton. He born 1838-1881 and She 1839 to 5-11-1899. Parents were married 12 May 1868 in Hengelo Overijssel Neth. )
