BOYDEN--Funeral services for Elizabeth Van Velzen, 81, were held Saturday, July 23, 1983, at 11 a.m. in the First Reformed Church, Boyden. The Rev. Sylvester Moths officiated with burial in the Boyden Cemetery. Andringa Funeral Home, Sheldon, was in charge of the arrangements.

The daughter of Henry and Jennie Van Veldhuizen, she was born Aug. 28, 1901, at Boyden. She lived her youth and attended school there. She married Joe Van Velzen on March 19, 1925, at Boyden where they made their home. Her husband preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cornie (Joan) Siebersma, Mapleton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Dethmers, Boyden.
