Maria Van Waart, 93, of Sioux Center died Saturday, Dec. 14, in a hospital nursing wing in Sioux Center.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sioux Center. The Rev. A. M. Den Boer officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family visitation was Tuesday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Van Waart, the former Maria Beukhof, was born May 30, 1892, in The Netherlands. She married John Peter De Bruin Feb. 4, 1911, in The Netherlands. They came to the United States in February 1913. They farmed in the Maurice and Alvord area, retiring in 1949. He died June 24, 1952. She married Marinus Van Waart in 1955. He died Feb. 7, 1964.

Survivors include five sons, Tom and Albert De Bruin, both of Rock Valley, Henry John and John Peter De Bruin, both of Lynden, Wash., and Gerrit De Bruin of Rock Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Dan (Clara) De Vries of Maurice, Mrs. Gilbert (Marie) Postma and Mrs. Gerrit (Helena) Niemeyer, both of Doon and Irene Reitsma of Edgerton, Minn.; 64 grandchildren; 128 great-grandchildren and 10 grest-great grandchildren.
