Hawarden Independent, November 16, 1933

Word was received here Saturday from Butte, Mont., that Miss Ruth Pearl Everett, a former resident of Hawarden, passed away at 9 o'clock that morning at the home of her mother, Mrs. Chas. Miller, following an illness of several weeks. She submitted to an operation in October and since that time had been bedfast, growing weaker continually until death claimed her. Funeral services were held at Butte and interment was made there.

Ruth Pearl Everett was born in Hawarden July 31, 1907, and so was some past 26 years of age at the time of her death. She spent her childhood days here but about 16 years ago, she accompanied her mother to Montana where she resided for a few years. She then returned to Hawarden and for years she made her home with her sisters, Mrs. Bert Newman and Mrs. George Van Sickle, in this city. She was employed at various places while living here and made many friends with people with whom she came in contact through her kindly and obliging ways. Two years ago she returned to Montana and since then made her home in Butte. Her death came as a severe blow to her two sisters here who made a home for her for years and sincere sympathy is extended to them in their bereavement.

Besides her mother and father, W. E. Everett of Westfield, she is survived by six sisters and three brothers. They are: Mrs. Mamie Newman and Mrs. Lula Van Sickle of Hawarden; Mrs. Eve Nuhfer, Mrs. Ida Cuchan and Wilbur Everett of Butte, Mont.; Mrs. Bessie Worden of Sioux City; Mrs. Doris Ward of Ridgefield, Wash.; Harry Everett of Kirkland, Wash., and Ernie Everett of Lesterville, SD.
