Ward Marshall was raised in rural Orange City. He graduated from the Floyd Valley High School in Alton and the Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon.
On November 11, 1983, he married Karri Grimes at Newkirk. They lived at Cedar Rapids, Middletown, Ohio, and in Pennsylvania. He was a sales representative for Columbia Machine. Inc., of Vancouver, Washington.
He was a member of the Park United Presbyterian Church of Zelienople, Pennsylvania.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Katherine "Katie", and three sons, Arie, Stephen, and Michael, all at home; his parents, Marion and Ruth (Van Veizen) Van Zandbergcn of Orange City; a brother, Reed, of Orange City; and a sister and her husband, Mary and Gary Karsseri of Omaha, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arie and Trina Van Zandbergen and William and Susan Van Veizen.
