Elmer Wall, 71, of Sturgis, SD, died Sunday, November 9.

Mr. Wall, a native of Sweden, came to Hawarden as a young man and lived here a number of years. While in Hawarden he was engaged in the carpenter work and was employed by the late Louis Haines. He was a cousin of Axel & Ed Johnson of Alcester and the late Elmer Johnson of Hawarden.

He was born October 1, 1881. While living here he married Miss Agnes Larson of Chicago. After his marriage in 1909 he went to western South Dakota and homesteaded near Stoneville. Later he moved to Sturgis.

He is survived by the widow and two sons, Byron and Dean of Chicago.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Sturgis, Wednesday, November 12. Mrs. Ed Johnson and Mrs. Vivian Ingebretson of Alcester were among those who attended the funeral.
