From the Alton Democrat of Jun 26, 1897
Chatsworth area news, Big Springs SD
One of the saddest of the many tragedies that have occurred on the Big Sioux river took place at the Otis, mill last Saturday evening. Rev.
Selin, pastor of the Swedish Baptist, church at Big Springs, his two sons; and a young man by the name of David Lindgrin (another young boy) were fishing at the mill. The boys thought to go in bathing before returning home. They had been in the river but a short time when young Selin,. aged fifteen, got beyond his depth and commenced to call for help. Lindgrin went to his ssistance and both were drowned before assistance could reach them.
Help was summoned and the bodies were recovered and taken to Big, Springs.—LeMars Globe.,

(This event was also in two other articles under Hudson news and Chatsworth news. The Lingrin boy was identifed as David Lingrin, no further identity of the Selin youth 15 years of age could be found.)
