IN MEMORIUM

Died, at his home four miles northwest of Boyden, at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon [April 5], John Peter Meyn, age 44 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Seldom has it been our duty to record so sudden a death. A dark gloom settled over the entire community when it was whispered from one to another that John was gone. When this paper last came to you the deceased was upon our streets greeting his friends with a happy "Good Morning." Today all that is mortal of our friend and townsman is at peaceful rest in our Silent City.

John Meyn was born in Cadenberge, Province Hanover, Germany, Oct. 20, 1869 and in 1872, while yet a small child, came to America with his parents. On May 14th he was married to Miss Anna Wormke to whom were born four children, three boys and one girl.

Mr. Meyn took sick on Thursday, April 2nd with appendicitis and being too low to move to the hospital was operated on at his home but was too weak to withstand the operation.

The deceased leaves to mourn his death, wife, mother, 4 children, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and two half sisters.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and immediately after at the church. Interment was made in the German Cemetery.
