RAYNOLD BUDDEN

Mr. Raynold F. Budden, 76, of Granville, died Thursday [March 28] at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Granville. The Rev. Francis Nemmers of Granville and Monsignor A. W. Behrens of Mapleton, officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of Fisch Funeral Home. Graveside military rites were conducted by Granville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5347.

Mr. Budden was born Feb. 17, 1909, at Granville to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Budden (Anna Millenkamp) where he was raised. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. He received his educational training in automotive mechanics at Lincoln, Neb. He operated the Budden Garage in Granville from 1945 to his retirement in 1976. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Granville Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a past member of the Greater Granville Club for 36 years, past Granville fire chief for 25 years and past commander of the Granville American Legion.

He married Gertrude Reim Feb. 11, 1946 at Granville.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Ken of Maurice; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Judy) Gralapp of West Bend; four grandchildren; three brothers, Edwin of Ashton, Albert of Northbrook, Ill., and Emil of Granville; three sisters, Mrs. Al (Coletta) Pottebaum of Alton, Mrs. Leo (Armella) Hemmen of Granville and Mrs. Art (Irma) Wersinger of Remsen.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roman, Alfred and Norbert and two sisters, Miss Amelia and Mrs. John (Melinda) Poeckes.
