Gertrude Westerman, 77, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smit, passed away Friday, october 19, 1984 at Sheldon Hospital. She was born April 12, 1907 at Hospers, Ia.
She married Harold Westerman on February 2, 1927 in Hospers, Ia. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and the Golden Hour Society.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, 4 daughters: Henrietta, Mrs Robert Vander Ploeg, Ada, Mi; Wilma, Mrs. Jake Brouwer, Downey, CA, Catherine, Mrs Bill Hengeveld, Sheldon, Ia; Jayne, Mrs. Jay Van Tol, Sanborn, Ia.; 1 son Harvey, Hartley, Ia., 2 sisters: Winnie, Mrs. Fred Poppema, Sheldon; Jennie, Mrs. John Waanders, Hospers,Ia. 4 brothers: Joe, Sam, Bill Smit all of Sheldon, and Frank Klynsma of Sanborn, Ia. 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, and 3 brothers.
