IRETON AND VICINITY
Death of Early Day Resident

J. H. Stafford, an early day resident of the Ireton community, died at his home at Rocky Comfort, Mo. on Sunday, Oct. 26th, from hemorrhage of the brain. The funeral was held at that place Oct. 28th and interment was made there.

The deceased was past 65 years of age. He came to this community [Ireton] with his parents when still a small boy in 1871 and for a considerable number of years they resided on a farm southeast of Ireton. He grew to young manhood in this community but in the early 80's the family moved to Ord, Neb., where they resided for a long time. He was a brother of the late Mrs. C. S. Burket of Hawarden. He never married and for many years past has made his home with his sister and brother in Missouri. He is survived by two brothers, Floyd V. Stafford of Omaha, Ralph W. Stafford of Rocky Comfort, Mo., on sister, Miss Laroqua Stafford of Rocky Comfort, Mo., and one half-brother, Frank Hewitt of Ord, Neb.
