TRACY DYKSTRA
Mrs. Tracy Dykstra, age 89, of Hull, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, May 22, 2006, at 1:30pm, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Verlyn Boone and the Rev. John Boender will officiate. Interment will follow at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Sunday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Tracy was born on February 3, 1917, at Sioux Center, the daughter of Baastian and Christina (Feekes) Schenk. She was raised by her grandmother, Mrs. Ted Feekes, at Carmel.

On May 23, 1945, she married Joel Bernard Dykstra at Carmel. They first farmed at Fairveiw, South Dakota, for a few years. In 1949, they moved to a farm at George, where she was a homemaker. In 1987, they retired to Hull. In February of 2005, she became a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center.

Mrs. Dykstra was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she participated in the women's organizations. She also belonged to the Homemakers Club, a group of neighbors at George. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, embroidering, and reading.

Survivors include her husband of almost 61 years; four children and their spouses, the Rev. Gerald and Janice Dykstra, of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; Carol and Rodney von Glan, of Breda; Harlan and Janice Dykstra, of Iowa City; and Kenneth and Nadine Dykstra, of George; ten grandchildren, Rebkah, and her husband, Keith Starkenburg; Joel Dykstra, and his wife, Bethany; James von Glan; Brandon von Glan; Jonathan von Glan; Amy Dykstra; Andrew Dykstra; Jennifer, and her husband, Dan Helkenn; Bradley Dykstra; and Todd Dykstra; and six great-grandchildren, Samuel and Mia Starkenburg, Jackson Dykstra, Melissa and Ethan von Glan, and Matthew Helkenn.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Ted Schenk, and a sister, Nellie Schenk.
